I bought and returned 4 pairs of boots before finding this little miracle. I have an average calf and the boot shafts kept being too wide. This shaft is perfect, the 1/4 zip makes it an easy on/off, the platform/heel ratio makes for a comfortable walking experience, the heel is wider for New York streets, but not so wide that I feel like I can't wear them out at night, and the almond toe shape makes it a perfect day or night boot. Plus, unlike some other slouch boots, I can hide them under boot cut jeans. I just bought a second pair to save for when I've worn these out.
